The ICC World Cup 2019 just ended and now for Cricket fans, it's time to witness a whole new kind of Cricket Championship which will be going to start with the 1st Ashes Test match between England and Australia.
The ICC World Test Championship will begin on 1st August with the beginning of the 1st Ashes Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The final of the Championship will be played on June 10-14, 2021 at the iconic Lord's cricket ground England.
The 1st Test match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand which will be played on August 14-18 and West Indies vs India 1st Test match which will be played on August 22-26 is also the part of the World Test Championship.
In the World Test Championship 9 out of 12 Test-playing nation will be the participants of this tournament, and these 9 teams are England, India, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Bangladesh, West Indies, and Pakistan.
Each team will clash with 6 of the other 8 teams.
A series must consist of 2-5 matches.
Each team will play six series (three home and three away)
A maximum of 120 points can be gained by any team in a series.
India's schedule for the World Test Championship:
- 2 Tests match against West Indies, August 2019 (Away)
- 3 Tests match against South Africa, October 2019 (Home)
- 2 Tests match against Bangladesh, November 2019 (Home)
- 2 Tests match against New Zealand, February 2020 (Away)
- 4 Tests match against Australia, December-January 2020-21 (Away)
- 5 Tests match against England, February-March 2021 (Home)
