It was another World Cup for New Zealand and they defeated the favourites India in the semi-finals to reach in the finals but this time also their dream ended as the runner-ups of the tournament as they lost the final match against England in the super over at the Lord’s.
Sri Lanka was not at all good at the World Cup 2019 until they defeated the host England but the time they defeated it was too late as their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals were dependent on the other teams.
After the World Cup, New Zealand will play its first series against Sri Lankan team as they will come here to play 2 Tests and 3 T20s. The 2 Tests matches which will be played at Galle International Stadium, Galle and P Sara Oval, Colombo will be the part of The World Test Championship which started with the 1st Test match of the Ashes.
