Team India at the top of World Test Championship

The Indian team defeated the West Indies team by 2-0 in the 2 match Test series which was also the part of the World Test Championship and hence tops the standings by 120 points. This was the 8th straight win for India against West Indies team in terms of Test series.

With Jasprit Bumrah continuing his outstanding bowling in the longest format of the game. Bumrah picked a five-wicket haul in the 1st Test match hence doing so for the 4th time and in the 2nd Test match he became the 3rd Indian to pick a Test hat-trick doing so after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan.

After the series got over Jasprit Bumrah jumped up to 3rd spot in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings, in just 12 matches of his Test career. Jasprit Bumrah was ranked 85th after his 1st Test match and is now at the 3rd after 12 matches if this type of performance by him continues then the days aren’t so far when Jasprit Bumrah will top the Test Rankings.

Hanuma Vihari came out as the most important player of the series after his effort took the team to a good score in every innings and he ended as the top scorer of the series with 289 runs. He also scored his 1st Test century of the Test career.

Virat Kohli by winning the 2nd Test match became India's most successful captain as he recorded 28th victory as a captain and surpassed former Indian MS Dhoni who had 27 victories.

One thing that did not go well with Virat Kohli was his batting performance as he was also once out for a golden duck, and due to his not so good performance Steve Smith who just mark his comeback after a year-long ban took only 3 innings to dethrone Virat from the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings as he tops the list by 904 ratings point whereas Virat is at the 2nd spot with 903 rating point.
